Petro Iranian Development and Equipment Company was established in Esfand 1397 (March 2019) with the goal of transferring surplus ethane gas from the South Pars Special Economic Zone to petrochemical complexes across the country. To fulfill its defined missions, the company designed and constructed a site in Kangan County, located in Phase 2 of the South Pars Special Economic Zone (Tombak Site). The nominal design capacity of the compression site is 1,000 tons of ethane gas per day, but based on current contracts and installed equipment, it is currently operating at a real capacity of 200 tons per day.
Petro Iranian Equipment Project
To deliver the product to the destination petrochemical complex, a discharge and pressure reduction site has been designed and constructed at Amir Kabir Petrochemical, with a discharge capacity of 400 tons per day. This site is capable of delivering gas under process-ready conditions to the Olefin Unit of that complex. Thus, surplus gas needed by the petrochemical industry is returned to the industrial cycle via a dedicated pipeline, preventing the waste of this valuable resource. For ethane gas transport, the land transport method using trailers equipped with ethane gas tanks was selected. To this end, special ethane transport tanks were designed and manufactured with the help of a domestic producer, and these tanks were ultimately mounted on trailer chassis.
