Amir Kabir Petrochemical is the producer of the most diverse polymer products in the country, including heavy polyethylene, light polyethylene, and linear low-density polyethylene, and holds a significant position in Iran’s petrochemical industry by offering its products in domestic and international markets.
Amir Kabir Petrochemical Petrochemical
The Heavy Polyethylene Unit, as the first unit established in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone, was commissioned in 1382. This unit, with the ability to produce various grades of heavy polyethylene, has played a major role in meeting market demand in this field. This product is used in downstream industries such as the production of plastic bottles and containers, various industrial items, thin plastic bags, cable coatings, and similar applications. The Light Polyethylene Unit, with a production capacity of 300,000 tons per year, was launched and commissioned by domestic experts. Its main uses include the production of ethylene pipes, small containers, household items, toys, and various automobile parts. The Linear Low-Density Polyethylene Unit, receiving ethylene feed from the Olefin Unit and with an annual production capacity of 260,000 tons, is capable of producing various grades of polyethylene required by the market. Major applications of this product include cable insulation, film production, liquid containers, and various plastic bags. This unit also produces 20,000 tons of an intermediate product called Butene-1 annually, which is used in polymer units as a co-monomer in the production process. Additionally, it produces 51,000 tons of butadiene annually, which is a raw material for the production of synthetic rubbers in downstream units such as BDSR.
