Maroon Petrochemical Company was established on 01/11/1377 (January 21, 1999) for the implementation of the Seventh Olefin Project. With an annual ethylene production capacity of 1.1 million tons, it ranks among the largest olefin units worldwide. For the first time in Iran, C2 (ethane) derived from natural gas is processed into olefinic compounds, polymer products, and chemical derivatives through advanced processes.
Introduction to Maroon Petrochemical
Krit Camp Area – Ahvaz: The ethane recovery unit is built on a 5.9-hectare site, located at kilometer 15 of the Ahvaz–Mahshahr Road. This unit produces the feed for the Olefin Unit, which is transferred via a 95-kilometer pipeline to the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone. Petrochemical Special Economic Zone: The Olefin Unit, together with the Heavy Ethylene, Propylene, Ethylene Oxide, and Ethylene Glycol Units, along with auxiliary and offsite services, is located on a 93-hectare plot in Site 2 of the Bandar Imam Khomeini Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (Phase 5).
